Thank you so much for the support and I look forward to any suggestions you might have.I'm trying to convert a couple of 30 second sequences from a 23.98 / 1080p sequence to a 59.94 1080i sequence. Instead of adding a motion effect to tons of 1080i footage, do you have any suggestions for what I could do with the lower 3rds? Should I attempt to export them out from After Effects 1080i 59.94 so they match the characteristics of my footage? Would both then theoretically look good when exporting out 'single frame?' I believe I tried it once several days ago and the lower thirds looked awful in Avid as opposed to the 1080i 59.94 video footage that I import in, which plays smoothly. I am now trying to export out the exact same media and lower thirds that he exported from Avid and encoded several years ago but am running into this issue. However, if I do so, the lower thirds have jagged edges (they only look smooth and correct if I export out with odd field preference). Every fourth (or so) frame is duplicated and there is no ghosting during fast motion. When I look at his delivery encodes, the 1080i footage seems to behave exactly as if I export out with single frame selected (instead of odd field preference) from a 1080i project. Using the method you described, I was able to export out where both the lower thirds and the 1080i footage look great.but I would have to add that effect to all of my 1080i footage in the future.Īpparently, my predecessor was exporting out of Avid without adding motion effects to the 1080i footage.I know because I have his online sequences. Thank you for any assistance you can give! The media in this timeline has not changed so I assume that it is either an export issue. The video footage also shares the same visual qualities as that of exporting currently from a 1080i project with 'single field' selected (no ghosting and every fourth frame is doubled). This exact timeline was exported out several years ago and from viewing the file, both the lower third and the video footage look great.

I have tried exporting every which way in the 1080i project and the 1080p 29.97 project, but the only way that I have found to get the video footage exported from Avid is in a 1080i project with 'single field' selected.ĭoes anyone have any ideas as to why this is occurring and how to remedy it? My delivery is 720p 29.97 so I have been exporting out of Avid with those DNxHD settings. My issue is that when I try to export my timeline with both sources (the lower third alpha above the video footage) from the 1080i 59.94 project, I have an issue with field order. It was exported out of After Effects as DNxHD 145 1080i at 59.94. I have a lower third that was imported from After Effects the same way. My video footage was imported DNxHD 145 1080i. Using Symphony 7, I am in a 1080i 59.94 project.
